Default Front Strut Brace Advice

Hi All,

I am about to purchase a front strut brace for my S2K...
Can anyone please advice if this will make a reasonable difference to my handling (not that's its bad) and Why is it that I can't find anyone who makes a rear strut for the S2K??? Is it that this is just not required in the rear???

thanks

Shanana, frankly they don't make much of a difference as the S2k is pretty solid structure and really doesn't need it. I have had a Whiteside front brace fitted for over 3 years now. I also have a spare in brand new condition. If you want, it is yours for AUD$100.

Thanks for the offer... And the advice.

I may just take you up on it...
I was going more on the advice of a friend in regard to fitting the brace.

I will do a little more research and reply to your offer soon.

Thanks again...

I noticed only a slight difference in driving feel after installing mine but to digress ...the S2000 really benefits most from the x-brace. You'll feel a more noticeable difference with one of those (or both) installed.

There is a large cross beam under the airbox so the STB really makes no noticeable difference although it looks great under the hood.
Mine makes it a PIA to remove the stock airbox lid. I have the MUZ front lower "X" brace and it makes an awesome difference. It makes the steering stiffer and more responsive even going 5mph throwing the wheel from right to left. It also made the suspension feel solid and predictable over hard bumps like railroad tracks. It also doesn't interfere with access to oil changes like other "X" brace designs. One of the best mods for the money IMO.

well there is this one turn i used to take at about 70 with spoon struts and after i took them off i couldn't take it at even 55... that is the difference for me and this is only for the top only... and not for the bottom...

Get the STB and X-Brace together. They are not that much money and work well in combination.

Muz / whiteline brace and no noticable differances at all because there is a huge I beam under the factory air box and i really don't think you can stiffen that up at all

It doesn't look very strong either.

Shock tower braces in this car are for show only.
