I did this to my car with a spare console, tried it for a week and decided it was too flashy. Then I went back to OEM and was much happier.

 

I have the same color interior and I don't think I would do that on mine, but, it looks like you did a quality job on it and thats what counts.

By the way, you know the original gray finish that scrathces? That comes right of with rubbing alchohol to reveal a polished aluminum look - thats what mine looks like now.

 

Nice idea to fix it, but I think it doesn't match well with that shade of red. Maybe it looks better in person though and not as glossy from the pictures.
