Fuel Consumption Drop for 2008?
Anyone notice that the 2007 EPA fuel estimates were 20 city / 26 highway, and for 2008 are now 18 city / 25 highway?
Has there been a change to the engine, or is this just different EPA testing methods?

no change mechanically, its the way the EPA does their testing. They have changed their driving setup, which should be closer to real life. Whats impressive is how little the numbers changed, some cars have had a 20-30% change in their numbers... for the worst!
It's not even a "real" change - the EPA simply did a little math on the previous numbers.

Far as I can tell, the S2000 hasn't been retested with the new tests. The raw, unadjusted numbers are the same for 07 and 08.

Talk about YMMV, I usually get much better numbers than that. Some friends and I did an all-day cruise to Bucks county, PA. About 1.5 hours highway each way, then a very nice amount of beating on the car while we were there. I was the only one who didn't have to hit the gas station, and got just under 27mpg. Considering how I was driving it up there, that's damn impressive.
