Default Fuel Cutoff on Cold Start

I've only driven my car about 5x since I had to leave for work 3 days after getting it. However, I noticed the 1st morning i drove the car that if the engine is still cold (1 bar on the engine temp reader), the car will not go into VTEC. Is that an accurate statement?

Also, is there anyway to manually set a rev limit? A friend of mine has a g-35 and he can set a rev limit which then blinks when the revs go past a certain point.

BTW, i have a 2000 AP1 S2000.

TIA

First off yes, there is a fuel cut off at around 6000-6500 rpms when the engine is cold.

Second, no there is no way to set a rev limit on the s2k. You can buy an aftermarket light if you want though.

Third, search is useful. This info has been this board since the dawn of time

Forth, bend over at a 45 degree angle and run straight for a brick wall for trying to rev the engine that high before its warmed up.

hehe yeah there's a rev limiter to save people from their own stupidity. (not saying you're stupid) but really, why would you rev a car to 9000rpm when it's not even warmed up properly?

lol just givin ya crap. welcome to the forum.

You know, I just realized that half the fun of having new people come on the forums is giving them a hard time when they get here

Se se settle!! -- my old car didn't have a rev-limiter so i could rev it to redline when it was cold!

edit: previous car had a 7000 redline with a chip.
