Fuel Gauge
I love my S2000, but the fuel gauge is just ridiculous with how unpredictable it is. Today, I was on perfectly flat ground idling at a stop light, not revving or anything, and I looked at my fuel gauge and had 5 bars. It started steadily dropping until it got to 1 bar, and the gas light came on. Then it went back up to 4 bars again, but the gas light stayed on.
Again, I was on perfectly flat ground idling. I've always owned Hondas, and known them to do this, but never to this extent. Is this common?

yeah, guage sucks. last 5 bars drop in less time than the first one takes to drop. Then for some odd reason it goes back up every now and then. I've talked to Modifry about making a correction unit, but that probably won't happen anytime soon.
k a little ot about fuel sorry but wtf
the specs for the honda s2000 say it's a 50L tank

Interesting! I agree, the last five bars drop very quickly but I've never had them come back up once they've gone down.
Mine usually comes off of full between 20 and 30 miles. It then drops quickly, like within the next 40 miles, to 5/8's of a tank. It then slows down and takes it's own sweet time down to about 3/8's of a tank to go from that 60 to 70 miles to 200 miles. By the time I'm at 230 to 250, it's at 1/4 or slightly lower. After that it drops like a rock until the low fuel light comes. The last bar disappears right after that. So far, the gauge has been very consistant about it so I can't complain.
I've owned two Honda cars. On both of them, when the low fuel light comes on, it stays on. No other car I've owned that had a low fuel light has done that. When I'm getting close and the fuel is sloshing around, the light would fade on and off until the fuel level dropped enough for it to stay on all the time. My Odyssey and my S2000 don't do that. Oddly enough, my 1998 Honda ST1100 motorcycle does fade on and off until the fuel gets low enough?
I guess Honda's automotive and motorcycle divisions don't talk to each other much.
