Yeah our bigger highways around us all have 70 - 75 MPH speed limits and you will not get pulled over for 9 over that Smaller highways are usually 60-65 or so and as mentioned, some of the smaller roads with lower limits are either because they are more dangerous or have houses near the road. Now, when I was traveling around Canada I really had to get used to it. In Ontario especially. They have 50 mph speed limits on tons of highways and that drove me nuts lol .
A couple of times, in the middle of nowhere, on those straight highways going down into the valley and then heading back up, you can see for miles and not see any traffic. Tempted to crank it up? I have and then get surprised by deer, coyotes, giant jackrabbits and whatever critters decides to cross the road in front of an S2000 going 100+mph. Not worth it! Only on a track.
That's fascinating, all those roads you showed would be 60mph limits over here, plus, the government expect drivers to pay attention so if you crash because you're speeding then that's on you and you gain full liability.
Here's a few photos from trips I took around my area, you can see some difference in American and British roads.
Great pictures but you guys ARE driving on the wrong side of the road! We fought a revolution to have the right to drive on the correct side!

For sure, we have lots of deer and critters around here. I have even talked to people who nearly hit deer at OIR on track!

I hit a deer on landing in a B727. The main landing gear took the hit, which was good as there was no damage noted after the inspection. The deer was "skinned" leaving behind mostly the skin with all the guts and meat all over the runway. Boeing makes a sturdy airplane. An S2000? Not so much!

Well that would be a trip!! Be glad you were piloting and not the ground crew lol. I bet that was fun to clean up

One time I was way up in northern vt on interstate 91 in my S middle of the day zero traffic open road and I was very tempted to get on it but luckily I didn’t. Out of of the tree line I see a state trooper pop out on foot pointing a radar gun at me. Luckily I was doing right around the speed limit. The other thing is a moose or a deer or a bear I would rather see a trooper with radar.
