this is a good one......alright, so its me, my dad and my cousin. we all went down to see my grandma....anyway, my dads driving his wrx...its decked out...engine and suspension only....and me in my S>..we are just pretty much cruisin..anywho, im in front and i see an m3, the coupe, at a mitsu dealer so i pull in to take a look...

So we're lookin around it, gettin in it...and its a nice car, really is...so then finally the salesman comes out, doesnt know nothing about the car and says "well, lets take it for a ride" so he goes and gets the keys and comes back out and when he gets out hes like you should race your s2000 against this..and im like naw...i dont do the race in the streets kinda thing..(im a freeway runner)....so they take off and my cousin and I walk over to the new evo..(love the shifter by the way,, it feels SOO comfortable in my hand.

we finally leave that and walk up underneath this overhang thing and there are about 10 eclipses....and about 7 salesman, and all of them were like you wanna by a car dont you....and then they start askin whose S that is.....so i tell them and some jerk off comes walking up to me and says
"yeah i raced one of those hondas in a eclipse v6 and smoked him"
I was no you didnt...he must not have been tryin or was a bad driver....

anyway that guy went away but about three others were telling me that the evo would smoke my car, and once again i was like no it wont...and they started laughing at me, like i was stupid or something....so i replied with:

"maybe if i was stock" and they were all like OHH, what do you have..blah blah....but one guy in particular was really onto the evo bein faster..(after that one of the salesman gave me his convertable cover....for free...he was the only cool one cuz he knew the potential of the S...)...anyway, when i got back from gettin that cover from the guys expedition i walked out front to stand with my cousin and my car...when i made my way out the guy that was set on my car bein beat by an evo was standing there lookin at my engine....so my cousins like : take him for a ride...and im like noo...BUt then i said okay...
SO i took the Salesman for a ride..so i start to pull out of the dealership and just dump the cluthc, the rear end sliding out and just compensate with turning the wheels the other way,,just smokin the tires...recover from the sideshot but the rear end was still squirlly, slam it into 2nd and am doin 65 before he knew what happened...

He was just absolutely pinned to his seat...his jaw resting in his lap...all that was comin out was.
Oh F'n god, this f'n car is so f'n ....god man...'oh my f'n god...just lookin at me, in TOTAL shock..he was just going all over himself with the car...we then turned down another street and i did the 55 mile hour drop to second and once again, oh my f'n god, this car is f'n bad....and so on..a bunch of jibberish, he was still in shock, i did that drop and took it to about 70 slowed down and he was like theres another open spot do it again...He was sooo impressed,,....he was apologizing like crazy because he was bad mouthing my car and sayin the evo was faster......he told me that he's hammered the evo, but hands down the s2000 would just absolutely smoke it...he was like, i wont ever look at another s2000 the same again... ...i felt so good about my car.....i showed the salesman up and he was a man and apologized....

We finally get back to the dealership and he is just simply amazed, bragging to the other salesman about it and they are all comin over and askin me questions..and so on......I then look to my dad and he bitchin with the salesman that was with him for the test drive and and they are PISSED>>>..i guess my dad offered the guy 22k straight up for the M and the salesman was like alright, come inside and blah blah....but when they got inside i guess the salesperson just blew up and was like "why the hell you tryin to low ball me???!! You cant give us your money? ..
and he was just absolutley pissed at my dad...i just dont understand it..then he was sayin my dad was disrespecting the car by doing burnouts and and so on...but he was the one who said to race the S against the M>..
But anyway, thats my story, if you made it this far..thanks for reading, but overall it was a pretty cool day!

 

a stock evo will beat a stock s2k, there is no doubt about that.
we're talking about a car that does 0-100km in 5 secs, and 1/4 in mid to high 13s,
dont get me wrong, i own a s2k, and i enjoy it, but to say it is quicker than an evo is moronic, a supercharged s2k on the other hand is another story, but it depends on how it is set up, what r ur power specs as a basis to compare it against others. i see u have done some mods so i can only assume that it is fairly quick, possibly low 13's and low 5's consistently.
i can only say ur comparing apples to oranges, if u want a quick straight line car, then buy a v8

 

im sure from a stop, the evo would have me, but if we did it from a freeway roll, i would walk it, im sure i would

Your dad offered 22k for the M? What year was it? It does seem a little low if it is fairly new. I'm not too sure how the pricing is in Az though. Good read.

 

we were in cali when he test drove it...it was a 2000, he didnt expect that much, but the guy at first was going to work with it, but then he just blew up and starting screaming and cussing at my dad in the dealership...

i've met a couple evo's now and ate both of them easily...one from a standing start and one on the freeway starting about 80.
