Default Funny thing happened at the gas station...

I went to Texaco yesterday to fill the tank up. Like usual, I get out and check the oil when I get gas, so I popped the hood and went and got some paper towels. Right when I handed the attendant my card, he asked me if I wanted him to check the oil for me. I was kinda puzzled, but then I told him no thanks. Well, I checked the oil twice like I normally do, and since it seemed a little low, I stood there for a minute and waited for more of the oil to settle. While I was waiting, another attendant came up and asked me if I needed any help!??! I was really caught off guard because nobody ever asks me if I need help checking my oil. I guess I would understand if I was standing there with the hood up and a bewildered look on my face, but I had the dipstick out at the time, and was checking the oil level.

Anybody else have this happen when they were waiting for the oil to drain to the oilpan?

I drove through Oregon once and it was the strangest thing. They pumped the gas for me. I said that it was no problem, I'm capable of doing it myself but the attendant insisted that it was his job. very interesting. Oh yeah, this was a few years ago in my datsun 510, not the S2k.

i believe in the north east area of the us, i know philly and new york/new jersey area, they pump the gas for you..... probably because so many people drive off without paying...

I had a few friends in college, females, that didn't know how to pump gas because they didn't have to... sad....

Yeah, Oregon is wierd that way. I went to college in Arizona, and I got so used to pumping my own gas that it was wierd to come back to Oregon and have someone else do it. I really wish that I could pump my own gas, especially now that I've got the S2000.

Not only do they pump the gas for you, but the gas in NJ is cheaper than in PA. whazzup with that?

I don't mind pumping my own gas, but it comes in real convient having full service during the winter... brrrr...

Yep, it's against the law to pump your own gas in Oregon.

Nothing makes me happier than to watch a dumbass gas station attendant spray gas all over my car when they pull the nozzle out

I used to live in NJ . the attendants used to short people at the pump and keep the dough.
