I have a 2001 S2000 with 2,200 miles and I'm already thinking ahead another year and the possibility of moving up the sports car food chain.

I'd love to know how many more years Honda is going to keep the S2000 virtually the same.

The NSX is very much long in the tooth and I've thought about maybe buying one that is a few years old. I've also tossed around the idea of a used Porsche 911 Turbo.

This S2000 has given me sports car fever and my business is thriving so I'm thinking about an upgrade in a year or so.

Any word on when there will be a new NSX? Not sure what I think of the new Nissan 350ZX or whatever they are calling it or the Mazda RX8. Would love to see Toyota come out with a new Supra Twin Turbo. except put a Lexus badge on it...

But, I digress, I'm a honda/acura lover but I just dont see anything in the future that will keep me in their product if I do indeed decide to scale up the sports car ladder..... A new, more powerful S2000 would have me dropping a deposit down for sure.

Honda/Acura is coming out with a 2004 nsx which will have a 400+ hp v8 engine and is going to give the viper a run for its money now. you can check out the nsx here:

im not too fond of the 350z's looks, though i have never really liked nissan. and with their new gt-r concept i feel i will never. LOL. to wrap it all up there is no better company that will give you your crave for speed other than honda/acura.

Last I heard the NSX-R won't make it to North America...has this changed???

I'm not a big fan of the 350Z either...I dunno...the looks just ain't there...

Have you considered a Skyline or other turbo beast like the EVO VII, STi etc.? Or do you prefer to stick with a 'true' sports car (i.e. 2 door, 2 seater etc.)?

I'd love to see Audi take the next step with the TT convertible. Wider fenders, more horsepower, etc.

Anyone keeping up with what Audi has in the works for the TT?

Wait until you have driven the S2000 for at least $10k HARD miles and then drive other "Sports Cars".

I found that the S2000 seems to "connect" to the driver and give a very unique driving experience that other "Sports Cars" costing twice as much cannot match.

Other than a prelude which I first bought coming out of college, the S2000 is the cheapest car I have ever owned. Yet its the most fun to drive car i have ever owned.

Sure there are other cars much faster than the S2000 but this car is exciting to drive.

Maybe a Ferrari 355/360 or a 911 Turbo may be more exciting than the S2000 but I haven't owned one of those yet.. hehe

I totally agree with you. This car is definitely the most bang for the buck and you have to spend two and three times as much money to get more performance.

That's why I'd love for someone to get a Honda VIP in a corner and grill him about what's up the road for this car. I can't imagine them letting the S2000 go 10 years without a face lift or a total redesign like they did with the NSX.

I do realize that this is only the third year of the car but a lot of sports car guys are the "new car fever" types. Very rarely stick with the same car for more than three years.

I own a 2000 Honda Odyssey and my weekend/night/date car is my 2001 silver/black S2000 .....so I'm definitely a honda/acura/v-tech fanatic.

honda/acura is the only way to go for good quality, great performance, and you have to love the v-tech

Ditto!

PS - biased opinion... I have 7 Honda engines in my garage/driveway.... and 15 others over the last 15 years!
