The best way to use the GPS V is to use it for directions and not as a map... it's too small to use as a map esp. while driving, but if you just rely on it for turn by turn it's quite good. My only complain is that it is too slow at times to redraw or tell you the next turn if the turns are close together... I've had mine for over a year and move it between my cars. By comparison to the Honda one in my MDX, it is no where near in functionality or usability, but then it is also $1600 cheaper...

Do you have the latest firmware upgrade and is the WAAS turned off? It redraws much faster with the WAAS off and accuracy is not affected too much. I believe the latest firmware is 2.09.

Yup, I have the latest firmware and WAAS is off... I guess, I'm spoilt at times comparing with my Honda GPS... It's ok, 98% of the time and fast enough.
