Default The gas man and the S2000

So I was at a friend's house today. We were sitting in her living room and I could see my car parked on the street. A wisconsin gas truck pulls up and parks on the opposite side of the street. The guy gets out and proceeds to walk over to my car. Staring up and down, underneath, and even into the window, he checks out my car for a good while. Me and my friend are getting a kick out of this.

So he then goes to the back of his truck and opens the back, taking out his tools and still taking peeks of my car. One last glance and off he walks to the house he is going to service.

I love my car.

That's cool. I had a bunch of kids checking out my car at a local hawaiian restaurant. I was just waiting for my food, so I decided to give them a little tour of the car. They seemed really happy.

I find it interesting how many people stop to look at my car as I drive by them, and how many yell "nice car!".

It's also interesting that I find that there's a large number of youngsters (ages 7-15, I'd guess) that give me the thumbs up as I drive by, yell nice things about the car, and generally seem very impressed with it.

Fun.

I was eating Easter dinner at my sister in laws this past Sunday and someone looked out the window to find a 3 year old neighborhood kid sitting in my Spa Yellow. I guess he couldn't resist.

On Easter, a kid about 14 offered me $40,000 for my car. I was tempted .
Also, the day I picked up my car, two guys in a black Z3 were looking over my car while I was in a store shopping. apparently they were chcking out the competition.
I feel SO good when I drive it and get those stares. and compliments.

Compliments from peers, friends and random people are nice. Yesterday though, a very old couple - maybe in their 80's - complimented me on what a nice car I had.

On the topic of old people complimenting the S2000...

I had parked out in the middle of nowhere (about 30 spots past the last car) at Target, and when I came out there was an older lady - probably 55-60 - parked (in a buick of course ) next to my S2000 admiring it. She said it was a beautiful car and it reminded her of the convertibles she drove in her 20s. Bizarre but seemingly common occurence...
