Yes, the extra down force they create translates into drag.
I cannot get better than 25mpg freeway anymore. I'm cruising 75-80 and running 225/255 Z1.

On long trips I get around 33 but I followed a big SUV once for about 330 miles and I literally almost got 40 (Top Up). From week to week though I get around 20.

Thats sounds spot on for that speed.

i learned that this could also make the car accelerate faster from gran turismo tutoring
i haven't done a straight up highway tank with my car yet so i'm not sure but when i used to do about 90% i would get ~30 mpg so i'd expect straight highway i'd get at least 32-34. usually i get 21.5-22 mpg mixed and i really mean mixed...vtec multiple times everytime i drive it mixed with highway and city. if i drove a fat g35/37 like this i'd be averaging 16-17mpg. i love honda engineering.

And when you attempt to "draft" behind vehicles at a further than optimal distance...it actually negatively impacts your fuel economy.
And whoever said 40mpg...thats just ludicrous
As for the CR comment....the CR doesn't have any less "drag" resistance than a normal s2k. Drag, as you're referring to is only a based on the cross sectional area of your car. The weight saving can be considered, but 80lbs is pretty negligible when the car weights 2800lb+ and you're also offset by the additional downforce that your rear spoiler creates...
man I need to get back to work...lol

I call BS on anything above 32-33mpg. "drafting" as you guys are referring to requires you to be within 1-2 feet of the car in front of you. So unless you were being towed by the car infront...I would say this is way too close for comfort.

As for my CR, I usually average 23+ in all city driving, but during the drive that led to the next fill-up, I hit WOT often. Now I'm driving more economically.
