it's a camera secretly recording you as you pick your nose while driving.
once it senses that you are diggin' around, it flashes all your exterior lights to get other commuter's attention so they look and point at you.

i have one to... circular... and almost white... i can see it in the sun... i have a Karr alarm tho.. so still don't know what it is(if it really is the OEM light)..
it's not the HP peak light like Fish22 is thinking.. the peak light is higher.. closer to the end of the tach.. near the 8k rpm
