I have them and it is resonable. Actually my insurance on my S and my Lex is lower than my TSX was with Metlife.

Best advise is to give them a call and get a quote.

Insurance rates vary greatly from one driver to another. Get your own quote.

I don't trust any of the online quotes. I checked several the last time I changed companies.

I checked the majors, Allstate, Statefarm etc. the closest online to live quote was $200/6 months. The online quotes lowball to get you to call in. I called them on it and was told that "it gives a rough estimate" I told them a rough estimate should be in the same ballpark not in a different country and 40+% more is not rough.

Call them, don't trust the online BS quotes.

Just find an insurance broker in your area that deals with 3-4 different companies and have them work you up a quote from each using the same coverages.

That will give you the best comparison.

Personally, I would rather have insurance from a non-internet company where I can call and have an adjuster that isn't going to be a week out and flying in from New York. The online insurance companies who don't ever have any local broker and no agents you can call "yours" doesn't give me a lot of confidance.

There is a local SafeCo adjuster here in town, same with Progressive and their rates are comparable (based on my broker's quotes) to Geico or any of the others anyway. I have never once, in all my times requesting a quote from them "saved up to $500". They've always been more expensive.

Not another one of these threads...

Insurance rates depend on a lot more than just the company you're using. Unless the person you're comparing rates with is exactly the same, lives in the same area and is looking for identical coverage then insurance rate discussions like this are meaningless. At the very least, post age, location, coverage levels, deductibles, driving record, extras (roadside assist, rental reimbursement) etc.

USAA doesn't have local brokers or agents and I'd trust them more than any other auto insurance company out there. They do seem to be the exception rather than the norm though.

Honestly, after watching my SO deal with her Farmer's agent I find the benefit of a local agent dubious. Guess it depends on how good your local agent is...

You better keep your car bone stock if you're going to get Geico.
