That 1 & 6 trick works except it neglects to give you the letter(s) which are in front of the serial number. Those letters are required to get the radio code. I know this because the dealer could not find the code from the serial number provided by the 1 & 6 trick, I had to pull the radio.

Also, the radio code stickers are not in the same spot on the car and in most instances not on the car at all. The dealer would do this and since each dealer is different the stickers are in different spots or not installed on the car.

Hey everyone,

I know this thread is old but i just tried the 1 & 6 trick and my radio just simply said "0" in the far right corner of the screen.

Anyone know what i did wrong? Car should be running? oh just in position II?

Thanks

Well, since your profile says you have an 01 and the thread title says for 02 and up......that could be the problem. Just a guess though.

There is an easier way... inside my armrest storage unit is a sticker. That is the code for your radio. they actually put these stickers in your car in several places for this purpose. My service manager showed me this.
They're not supposed to put these anywhere on or in the car.

Just a FYI, mine was on a sticker attatched to the trunk lid, bottom, center. This may not be the case for all but it was for mine and I was a happy camper it was there because the 1/6 trick wasn't working for me.

I am trying to reset my radio and my sticker was on the armrest door.

It is a combination of letters and numbers. How do I enter the letters and how to do I enter a 0?

I do not have my manual so I can't check there

Well once a service department was open it wasn't hard to get my radio codes and enter them.

I would suggest that you get your codes before you need it and write it on the little sticker that the dealers put in your car when you buy it. My sticker was in the lid of my armrest, some put them in the trunk.

That sure beats having to wait all weekend until someone finally opens up.
