i never understand why people ask this question, "to buy and s2000 or not?"
after all... THIS IS AN S2000 BOARD... won't we all push more people to buy this car?
i mean, if i can't afford it, don't like the look or it, and don't feel at one w/the car while i'm driving it... then basically all of your opinions and quotes can be shoved up my a$$!
but bause it's so affordable, so gorgeous and feel like a leather glove... MYSELF AND THE REST OF US, OWN THIS FINE PIECE OF MACHINERY!
like many have said...
go test drive it...
if it's affordable, and you like it... BUY IT!
it handles like no other HONDA (obviously)

calvin...don't i know you from the MR2 board???
well, i just got my S2000 and I can say that I love it more than my highly modded MR2 Turbo. I would think the MR2 Turbo is more enjoyable to drive than a Prelude.
The prelude has never done anything for me. But the MR2 and S2k both bring a smile to my face. The good thing about the S2k is that it is newer and "classier" than the MR2. I can drive it to work, take it to the track, and roll up to a nice club all with the same car.

It's been 9 months since I sold my MR2. Yes I kinda miss it (speed-wise
). That's why I've been thinking more and more about the S2K.

I gave up my 99 M3 for my Suzuka Blue S2000. Before the M3, I had a 97 Prelude SH, which was a wonderful car. Now, with the S2000, I can finally say this is the car for me. There may be faster, more luxurious, and maybe even better, cars out there or will be made in the future but you will absolutely love and enjoy the S2000.
Don't even question it. Just go drive it. Heck, I would even buy this car without even driving it.

I traded in my '96 Prelude VTEC for my '00 S2000 and never looked back. I'm still loving it almost two years later. The only initial disappointment I had with the S2000 was the sub-par stereo (the 7 speaker setup in the Predule is MUCH better) -- I solved that problem by spending around $1500 to upgrade the S2000 stereo (did the work myself - great learning experience). However, due to the mounting rings cracking, I haven't actually had my new speakers in the doors for about a year now -- the engine and exhaust sounds do quite nicely (I apparently don't miss the stereo enough to cut some new MDF rings.)
Cheers,
Dave
