Oh dear....the blue CF....I'm sorry.

Was the previous owner trying to make this a rice mobile?

First of all DO NOT USE ACETONE. It will melt plastic/rubber materials. Find something called Med-Sol. It's used for removing adhesive left from bandages on skin. It's nothing but concentrated orange oil and works very well.

veilside:

I'll say this one last time. Try 3M Adhesive Remover. I have used goo-gone for many tasks such as removing bumper stickers, removing price tag adhesive residue, and such. But 3M is made for harder jobs. If goo-gone does not work, that does not mean that 3M won't.

But if 3M does not work, for God's sake, don't use acetone, laquer thinner, paint remover, or ANYTHING. Instead, take your car to an auto upholstery expert.

Although you have lots of input, I do know that cigarette lighter fluid will also do a good job of taking adhesive off from some surfaces (some that ARE plastic).

However I cannot say it would work without damaging the S2K dash. So if you resort to trying that, you should test it somewhere out of sight. Perhaps on the bottom edge of the dash, not sure. But you should try it on dash material and not some other plastic in the car.

Good luck. I would say the glue has baked on for a while.

Blue CF (with black interior), stuff glued to the dash (of a $30k+ car). I would say the prev. owner was both color blind and a few fries short of a happy meal.

not sure what kind of question that is or if your just being a smartass... the blue cf kit was on the car when i bought it. i plan on switching to the brushed aluminum kit in a couple weeks. otherwise, its just the stock s2k ap2 doors and center console.

iv used goo gone before on the outside of cars. side moldings, badges, emblems, etc. i just wasnt sure what kind of affect it would have on the dash
Sorry sorry, not trying to smart off or anything it's just that the dash looks blue (maybe my colour settings?) and the doors are obviously black/red and the seats *could* have come out of an all black interior car. My mind instantly went to this being a mush combination of all 3.
