Default glass or plastic rear window? 01-02?

i noticed that they started putting glass windows and tweeters in teh 02 models of the s2000 and was wondering if 00-01 owners had any serious problems with their rear window. i just wanted some opinions b/c i think that the glass would be better for seeing at night, etc... just help a future owner out

proshate,
chad

I really dont have serious problems with my plastic window. The only problem I do have with it, is that it is harder to distinguish police headlights through the plastic.

Yeah...I barely use my convertible just because it damages the platic rear window. As for the glass, you can simply spray invisble glass and wipe! Much easier to clean than the 00-01 soft top.

Then again, I've been wanting a hardtop for quite some time and don't mind sacraficing my soft top.

I have an '01 with a hardtop. Since my vehicle is driven so *infrequently* (2 other vehs in household), the plastic window makes no difference to me. I either drive with the hardtop on, or the hardtop off; always leaving the softtop down. I do have a fuzzy noodle and towel in place to prevent wrinkling of the rear window, but to no avail. It still creases easily thus hindering any rearward view I might have. Since I have no need for the softop, it isn't an issue for me. IMO, spend the $$ on a hardtop rather than swapping to a newer roof with glass window. The HT works well in all seasons, also has a heated rear screen, and has far better visibility than the OEM glass window in the softtop.

No serious problems with plastic window here.
Only problems are creases and scratches on the window, and it doesn't have defroster.
Hard top would be a good investment for winter.
