Default Glass Rear Window

When I was checking the e-mail we get from Honda at the dealership today I noticed one that was titled "S2000 FAQs". One of the questions is about retrofitting the glass rear window. Below is the text to this question.

"Q: Does the 2002 SOFT TOP with the hard glass rear window and defogger fit 2000/2001 S2000s?

A: No, but we are working on a kit that will allow such an installation. Initial information indicates that this kit could be very expensive and would require considerable installation time. We will keep you updated as development continues.

Note: We are also lining up a Blue Soft Top for the 2002 Suzuka Blue S2000."

hffej,

Thanks for the info!

Any chance of ordering the black leather seats, dash and soft top for the 2002 Suzuka Blue S2000?

John

As for the blue soft top, I am not sure if it will be a factory installed option. I think the message is that it will be available as a separate part that can ordered though a dealer parts department. I'll post an update on this when I learn more.

I might be wrong but I seem to remember that in Japan you can get the blue with the blue top. So this should be possible, however there are also other cool colors that we cant get here.

Also on this S2000:FAQs e-mail there is alot of info on ordering a hardtop for the 2002 model and the storage rack and cover. Also some subwoofer info. If anyone has any questions on these let me know.

I wonder just how expensive is 'very' expensive?

Judging by what happened with Miata, perhaps some less-expensive, aftermarket glass kits will appear in time.
