Are you using the valet key? Mine has a gray plastic base instead of black. Or, maybe your key was copied from the valet one or something weird. Did you get more than one key with your car? I'm assuming you would have tried all of them if you did. The only other thing I can think of would be that your ignition and door locks had been re-keyed after a theft or lost key. You could probably get your glove and trunk re-keyed in that case but it would probably be a bit expensive. I would call a dealership and see if they can order you a new non-valet key.

If you only have the grey vallet key, you're missing two of the three keys the car came with from the factory. Sounds like a theft vulnerability to me. Talk to a dealerhsip - ask them how much money two new keys will cost, and if they can erase your missing keys from the ECU's memory.

Do you have the two key-fob remotes? If not, you'll want to get those replaces as well, and of course have the codes from the missing ones removed from the ECU.

they only gave me one key (Grey... apparently its the Valet key) + one fob, this one key doesnt open the glove box or the trunk... just ignition and doors!

i tried the ign key in the glove box and it doesnt even go in... so it seems its really the valet key i was given...

aww man.. stealership! argh!! hehehe

Thanks guys!!

if you got your car from a dealership just go back and let them know... they should replace the keys, or take care of the problem for you free of charge.

so basically what i need will be my trunk and glove box rekeyed!

i dont care for the trunk.

the glove box is rather important... couldnt i just buy a lock with key from another manufacturer/replacement part/generic part/off the counter at autozone part???
