Default GMSFM --- Good Stuff

I just returned from svatne's lube ramp where we dug the pit a bit deeper and took the opportunity to swap out tranny fluid using GMSFM stuff. Found it at the local Chevy dealer (actually all the GM dealers I called had it).

This stuff is worth the time it takes to do the refill. While I had always (for 5,000 miles), thought the S2 transmission was right up there with anything I had driven in the past, using GMSFM makes it that much better. Snick, snick is the order of the day now.

On top of the improved tactile feel of the shifter, I have also noticed that the S2 now handles better in the rain and I no longer feel the need to add additional sound deadening material to the body. I am also expecting to see my gas mileage to improve to 45 mpg or so.

All seriousness aside, the GMSFM is the best $22 I have spent on the car to date.

I have a question about this- I need to get my car inspected soon, and I was just going to schedule an oil change and tranny fluid change all in the same trip. Do most shops comply if I bring in my own tranny fluid and tell them that it what I would like it replaced with? Or will they give me crap and claim I need to use something else...also, although I'm sure this has been covered- how many quarts do I need for a full flush/change... Thanks!
