going to dealer tomorrow....
Hi All,
Well...I am going to the dealer tomorrow to (hopefully) put a deal together for an 03
Can any and all that are in the know - give me some help on what to try to get from the dealer (financially) in the NorthEast mid September...
When I stopped by today he told me he has five 03's in stock 2 silver's, red, yellow & a suzuka - he told me to come in again tomorrow - and tell him what he needed to do ... to get me into the car - I don't think I can afford the payments to buy out right - but would work on a lease and if after 36/39 months the buyout is favorable - maybe then I would buy it.
Gave me the line that some one was looking at the Suzuka today and it may not be available tomorrow....we'll see...
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

don't lease it, you'll hate having to return the car. financing it is your best bet. the s2000 is a car you'll definately want to keep(unless you're one of those types that likes to have a new/differeent car every 3 years).
IF you plan on going to a dealership read:

Read it a few times for good measure.
Remember, no matter what they say about this car might be sold tomorrow, blah blah, don't take them for their word on it. Try leaving for a couple hours.

I have to agree with them. Buy it dont lease if you can. This car is too great to have to give back. Also with the new arrivals of the 04's coming soon, you can probably get a deal on the 03's. Besides, dont let them bully you out of it. If they dont give you what you want, walk away. I bought mine for $100 over invoice, and that was in June
At least he told you to come back, most sales people don't beleive in "be backs" and will try to pressure you in a vehicle that day.
I also agree that you shouldn't lease, it's typically not worth it, if you can get a good deal on the car now then you will be happier in the end. You shouldn't have any trouble getting under MSRP, especially if they have 5 on the lot and the '04s coming.

Agree with all of the above comments.
It is a buyer's market right now.
Don't buy his BS that someone is looking at the color you want. The cars have bee sitting there for weeks if not months.
It's highly unlikely anyone is buying right now, because the 04's are just around the corner and the economy is bad, bla bla bla.
So take advantage of the way the market is right now, the market dictates what these cars are worth. 4 years ago you were lucky to get this car at MSRP, right now is a very different story...
Also agree with carbuyingtips.com a "Must read" in my opinion.

Yep - the Suzuka Blue was still available - surprise!
I have for the moment decided to pass on this dynamite car and get through the winter with my 91 Miata - its in near perfect condition with many tweaks and mods - it's no S2000 - but it is a very fine example of an NA Miata...given that I travel in & out of NYC with it a couple of times a week - and that's not easy (leaving it in garages particularly not easy) - I don't think I'm ready to travel in & out of Manhattan with a new S...
So I told the dealer that I was going to pass on the current bargain - it sounded like he was going to down to 500 below what he claimed was his cost to to 29300 - this was 3500 better than the price I was quoted back in June.
I want this car but I absolutely don't need it. Wish you all the best - I'll continue to peek in now & then - possible join the group again when I become an owner.
