Going Overseas
Hi guys, the car will be sitting in the garage for 5 weeks. Just wondering if yas got any tips as to maintaining the car.
Nobody here will be taking the car out for a run as Im the only manual driver in the family.
Would leaving the engine on every now on then for about 5 minutes help?
Ta!

5 weeks is nothing. Just park it and you'll find it happy when you get back
The only thing I'd do is leave it in Reverse as opposed to the E-Brake for the time.
Anything exceeding 10 weeks should consider more appropriate preparation, but 5 weeks is not enough to warrant the extra work IMO.
All this assumes it will be parked in a garage though. If outside you might want to throw on a good all weather cover if you have one.

I left my car in my garage for 6 months last year when I deployed to Iraq. Fresh oil, a full tank, and a trickle battery charger is al I did and it was perfect when I got back. I have been back for over 6 months now and there have been no issues with the car.
