Default Gone but never will be forgotten

One of the saddest things that has personally happened to me has occurred. On October 31, I traded in my S2000 (for a 2003 VW Jetta GLX). She will be missed but will never be forgotten. She brought many miles of smiles to my face and made my blood and adrenaline rush (especially when she spun in an intersection one time). She will be replaced someday -- maybe with an updated S2000 or an S2200 (maybe that's what the S2000 will evolve into). I will never forget how much I loved that car.

By the way, I will be selling several items that I removed from my car once I figure out some pricing.

My wife and I are expecting our first child in mid-January. We decided that it made more sense to have something more practical. In addition to getting rid of the S2000, I also sold my old trustworthy '87 Accord LXi hatchback. We still have a '96 Grand Cherokee and I would have loved to keep the S2000 and just substitute the old Accord for a new car but we didn't want to have two car payments especially considering these uncertain times.

My wife has assured me that a new S2000 is in the cards someday. That's helps me along.

Silver Bullet,

You will never regret selling the car to build a family and children will give you far more joy than the car ever could. But you will appreciate it all the more when you do come back.

I know, I been through it myself

First things first. You made the right choice.

My wife and I made the same choice years ago and now we have the kids and the car! You will too.

Did that with my prelude... Of course I traded it for a brand new 86 Legend. It was hard to see the prelude in my rear view mirror as we drove off the lot but we too needed a family car. Then came the S2000 some 11 years later. Congrats on the soon to be new family member good times are ahead....

Thanks everybody for the kind and encouraging words. Family is more important and I do feel that I made the right choice. I'm still going to frequent this forum often (it's such a great community) and I will be back someday with a new S2000!

I will do that. He's due on January 18 but seems to be ahead of schedule as far as his size and estimated weight goes. He'll either be early or he's going to be a big boy.
