Default Good Bye S2ki

Hello All,

I have been a lurker at this site since I purchased my 2002 Spa Yellow. Just wanted to let you all know that my beloved car was stolen from my apartment on July 10th and has been recovered by the SSFPD on July 12th. The car is totally stripped and all that is left is the engine, hood, and trunk. My recent additions to the car included front & rear spoilers, 18x8 / 18x9.5 SSR GT3, 5% Tint. I will miss the S2K dearly and miss coming to this site as it was so helpful. My next car will be some sort of economy car, not sure which. Maybe a used Toyota Corolla or a Dodge Neon : ) I definitely do not want to experience this feeling again.

Regards to all

Wow. Sorry to hear that. Won't insurance cover most of your loss?
The Corolla will be more reliable than the Neon.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Was it parked inside your garage or outdoors? So engine immobilizer didn't work? Did they tow car to steal it or did they hotwire it? I also live in Bay Area so just curious how they were able to do this.

Bye!

Sorry to hear about your situation. I've had my motorcyle stolen before, but I bought an even better on with the insurance money.

I couldn't imagine not driving an S2000 anymore. I think that you'll miss it when you're in the Corolla/Neon.

Thanks for the replies everyone!! The reason I want an economy car now is due to the fact that if I get another S2K, it will just get stolen again! Probablly from the same people!! I do have my Insurance policy maxed out so that offers me some relief. I will just save the money and buy a house with a garage to protect the next "Dream Car" sometime in the future. The Immobilizer does work, however the car was towed in my opinion. The ignition was intact and I had the autolock on the clutch. I wish I had installed "Lowjack"!!!! Thieves would have been caught stripping the car or better yet caught before they even started stripping!! "Lowjack" will defenitely be in the next vehicle! I don't want the wanna be S2k Corolla getting stolen

Regards all !
