Tell him to suck it up and sell it to you for 7000. Bring him a list of everything you will need to do to make the car driveable again. With prices of each. The soft top alone will cost around $3000 parts and labor to fix. If you can get it for $7000, gut the softop and throw a nice hardtop on, it would do wonders for the car. However, if you are taking a loan out to buy it, I would recommend financing another $3000 for a nice car.

he's firm...

he has every single receipt from the previous owner and has owned the car for 3 years. no modifications and the car has a clean title. he told me the soft top is free of any tears/rips but the rear window is showing it's age.

the mileage bugs me but im aware of honda's reliability. the guy seems to know what he's talking about and oil changes have been done regularly.

we'll see how it goes on wednesday or next week. i will be paying cash, no loan.

Wut's going on Allen. It's Eric. I think you can find a better deal which in the long run will make you much happier. Are you planning on keeping the car that you purchase??

sup eric,

i plan on keeping the car for awhile and as a daily. i don't plan on modding the engine but i do plan on upgrading the suspension and taking it to the track periodically.

there is a local 2003 with 61k miles. black on black but it has a salvage title due to a minor accident on the driver side front. the owner says he has all the pictures from the damage as well as the body shop information in case im interested. he said the fender, hood, headlight and bumper were damaged though the suspension and chassis remained intact.

he's asking $8500 for it. top is free from any rips and it has the glass window. also has all the receipts since he's owned it.

What do u think?

Why not finance the last bit and have a small car payment? Would be better off than paying cash and having a POS.

I probably wouldn't do it, but if your goal is to spend considerably less than $10k to buy yourself an S2000 then you have found your car.
