Default GOOD Deal or NOT?!

Hey guyz, I need your help and opinion here on this one.

Owning the S2k has been my dream for a long time, and I've been saving for a long time, so getting a good deal is very important to me. Basically a california honda dealer offered me $34,500 OTD for '03 s2k. Would that be a good deal considering 04's are coming in October, or should I try to bargain for a better price. Oh, and this car is the HOnda showroom model so it has been test driven couple times with 76 mi on the odometer. They still considered it a new car. I live in Southern Cali btw, and a lot of my friends think that I can get a better deal. But as always, I want the wise input from my fellow s2k members. Thanx in advance for everybody's support and input.

DCrew1X,

Is that with Tax, Title and License? Because I think that's too high. You should be able to get a better deal, considering the newer models are coming out in October. Also, since it's been a showroom car, there has probably been more wear and tear on it, considering it's been test driven what... ~70+ miles?

My advice, coming from someone who has seen a LOT of S2k's bought and sold, re-negotiate.

My $.02

I know someone who just purchased a Spa Yellow S2000 in California 2 weeks ago for $2,000 below list + tax and license. I can't reveal the dealership, as the salesman is a member on this site, and I do not believe he would want this information divulged. However, you might want to keep it in mind while negotiating your price!

Keep dealing.

You should be able to get under ~ $31,000 before tax+fees. Try Hardin Honda, Honda World, or Flabedoe Honda, stay away from Power Honda in Costa Mesa.

What color are you looking for?

Since this is an out the door (+ TTL) price I think it is just a little high. What was the price before TTL? CA Tax is 8.25%ish (2850)and license and registration is what 1000? So that makes 3850 in fees, and brings the price of the car down to 3060.00. This makes the price about the same as what OC S2K said.

I wish I could have pay that for mine 2 years ago

I just helped negotiate for a friend. We got a price of $30,800.00 plus tax & lic. This price includes the rear spoiler too. This dealership likes to install rear spoilers on all their S2K's.

We are scheduled to pick it up tonight!

I agree with the above that you can do better, but I also agree with the above that considering it's OTD, it's not necess. a bad deal. Total TTL in CA is a hair under 10%, so you're basically getting it for $31K.

HOWEVER, you CAN do a lot better than this, especially considering there are 76 miles on the car. I'm in the market (in SoCal) myself and I've received quotes for closer to invoice (around $30K flat), on cars with under 20 miles on the ODO. I found that you can get the best quotes from Rock Honda (far drive). You should get straight invoice on this car, if not below. There was a certified used 2003 S2000 w/only 500 miles advertised at Villa Honda a week ago going for $27,999.

DCrew1X, why go through the trouble I did searching for a deal. Call Matt Piercy at 714-890-8900. Tell him you are from S2Ki and trust me, that will save you some money right there. I chose to go for the '03 and I am very happy. I like last model cars, but he gave me the best deals and he continues to help you out after the purchase. I still keep in touch with him and the experience is good too. It's in Westminster too. Good luck.
