Welcome new bee You can get a single new in your budget but, if you buy one used (for sale thread) you can buy a really good single like a T1R or J's 63 mm / 70 mm within your budget.
Do a search on exhaust sound, horse power gain, quality, ect. there is a LOT to read on the subject.
GOOD LUCK

Cool

Hey BlackS2k2.0,

Regarding the exhaust, single with net you the most gains (although not very much in its own right) and Ben is right, buying used is def. the best way to get the most for your money.

One a side note: Nice sig. Normally it would not make any difference to me but that art was done specifically for my car using this picture:

You can use it if you want, but, unless you have a silverstone S with the INGS+1 body kit, and CWEST hood people are going to wonder if your sweet on me or something

Good luck on the exhaust hunt

Me thinks he likes Primo's car

...back on topic, HKS is widely accepted as the best sounding exhaust on the s2k, invidia is good as well, but loud... There are literally dozens of different exhaust systems for the s2k. As mentioned before, utilize the search function, and try to find sound clips to help your decision. Meeting some local members and checking out their setups is very helpful as well. I'm not sure what it's like in your area, but here in Central Florida, we have a very active community, with anywhere between 10 and 25 cars showing up weekly to our get togethers. Get involved, and do alot of research before you bite on something. An exhaust is something you're going to have to listed to daily for a very long time, so make sure you like it before you drop the coin on it. Good luck!

T1R 63 will probably be your best bet. Quality, Sound ,performance and price which will fit into your budget.

No exhaust will get you a BIG HP gain. Some will give you more than others, but NONE will give you gains over 10 HP if even that high.

That's pretty uncool to use primogen's car in your sig without asking first.
