Default Good time to buy?

You guys think I could get the '04 S2000 cheaper than $30,995 if I buy it after christmas? Here's my thinking:

-its winter and sports car don't sell as much.
-After Christmas sales drop.
-it will be at the end of the year.

If you think I could get it cheaper, how much would ya say?

If you're willing to risk waiting, I've read that the absolute best time to buy is in between christmas and new years. Dealers are often trying to get rid of their last one or two allocated vehicles so they can get more in the following year.

I believe we heard of one or two owners purchasing their '03 at invoice during that time last year because the dealer was going to get an extra s2000 allocated to them the following year if they sold a certain number and they were off by one.

Lubed,

I think it would be a fine time to buy, either one of the last of the 9K redline '03s or an '04 right off the truck. I just started selling Hondas in Dallas and I'd love to make a new S2K owner one of my first satisfied customers. Please feel free to call or come by Rusty Wallis in Dallas (214-348-7500) and ask for Sam Bailey. I'm sure we can hang with any pricing that's being put out from our competitors.

Thanks,
Sam

would this theory regarding time frame still apply in buying a used s2000 as well?

Not really, except that it's winter. Dealers are desperate the last week of the year because they know hardly anyone is shopping for a car during the holidays and they want to clear out their inventory before the new year to achieve better allocations. Private sellers don't have this motivation.

Lubed,

A little more info for you. It looks like we've got no one on pre-order right now and an '04 projected for delivery on the 30th with another on order. If it interests you or you want more info just let me know.

I'm a bit late finding this thread but if you don't mind saying, "where" in Houston did you get this deal?

Thanks
