I vote that we soften the "us against them" rhetoric. This is a recent blemish in the otherwise admirable record of these mods. Some will recall that I didn't want mods in the first place, and that I predicted these problems with the other forums.

I am now a fan of the other forums and of our mods. Let's just work this one out in a friendly way and continue on our merry way.

For the record, I am not an ass-kissing drone. (Not that you were accusing me, Strike, but I was re-reading my touchy-feely post).

If you feel someone is being unreasonable...take 'em to the mat.

I just hope that's not the case here. (I haven't read any of the "Site" forum, and have never even been there, which I suppose is part of the argument against having it.)

Am I really going to have to spend all day dealing with this because a few people are too lazy to click the logo and check the other forums?

First off, I moved the topics, even my own. I unlike some reconsidered it and decided that it doesn't actually relate to a real car. The bumper is not available and wont be so discussing it as real is no more relevent than discussing the next NSX.

I also moved a thread about weekend detailing because it was just a story about how a guy detailed his car. I enjoyed it but it wasn't truely of great informational value on the whole.

If me moving a few threads around for the sake of organization is going to cause two members to flip out, and one to express just how important and pompous he is by creating another thread to replace the moved one, then fine. All it shows is your colors.

It should also be pointed out that neither of the two whiners in question has made any effort to assist with the board in any way. Dliodoir if you are going then go already. If you are staying stay. Just get out of the doorway lest the screen door hits you in the ass.

If you point out that I've made a mistake, I'll correct it but don't break my balls. Ask anyone and they will tell you the same.

Maybe it's me, but I always thought Off-Topic was for anything not remotely related to the S2K.

Now you are telling me it its sort-of related to the S2K it could be on-topic or could be Off-Topic...

Make up your minds.

Keep it simple.

If it has to do with S2K-anything it should be on-topic. Period.

Anything else will only cause the type of problems you are seeing here.

-That's my $.02

Strike,

This is not a polite discourse about what is or it not off-topic. It is a threat to do as one member wants or he'll leave. You want to talk, lets talk but this ain't talking. It is also a show of arrogance by another member who didn't get a reponse from me in what he felt was a timely manner so he went ahead and effectively overrode my decision. That is what this is about, not the other.

When confronted with an angry mob I become defensive. What should have been a simple questioning of my action was not. I didn't start those threads.

CThree

I am really surprised by your post. I have always had a good feeling about this board and thought the moderators had lightened up the pressure on their triggers.

I don't know whether you realize it but the tone of your recent posts on this matter has been defensive, arrogant and insulting. I'm sure that it takes a lot of work to keep this site up, and no one has asked any the members for help that I know of. I appreciate a site where we can discuss our S2000s and related matters. I also assume that you are at least covering your costs with the advertising, and other perks that owners of automotive posts usually get. But I don't like the fact that you are treating members with disrespect and from what I can see, without any good cause to do so. You may be having a bad day, that's one of the reasons we all hang around this site, it gives us pleasure. I don't like to see Jay Li or you acting like bullies, it doesn't become you.

Why don't you take a break, take your fingers off your triggers, for a while, and let's talk about cars.

Cthree,

I take offense to this. You think these decisions are only bothering a couple of us? Look at all the posts that are responding to these threads with comments like

"Yeah, what's with all the moved threads" or (from this thread)
"Now you are telling me it its sort-of related to the S2K it could be on-topic or could be Off-Topic...
Make up your minds.
Keep it simple"

As far as the fact that I don't help you run this board, I didn't realize it was a requirement in order for my voice to count. But hey, you want help. I'm offering. I'm a network admin/engineer with Novell, NT, and Linux experience. Let me know how I can help. And trust me, I don't like spending my day responding to this junk either. Maybe you could just come up with consistent criteria that will be used in decisions to move threads so that I know what types of posts to expect in this forum and what types of posts to expect in other forums.
