Default Goodbye S2000 ... again

It's time to say goodbye to my S2000 ... again. I let go of one 3 years ago in the states, and I have to do it again half way across the world ...

I've decided to let go of my S due to personal reasons -- i.e. need a 4 seater. Will be delivering the car to the new buyer in the next few days, and I'm starting to miss the car already.

I could go on with all the differences between all the models after driving quite a few of these and owning 2 (an 05 USDM AP2, and an 04 JDM AP1) ... including differences between the USDM and JDM models. I would say I love the 04/05 JDM model the best -- 9K redline with everything else AP2'd, best of both worlds ... However, at the end of the day I realize they are all S2000s, and are all great machines. S2000 engineers are amazing, and this car really is a work of art.

I have yet to find a car in price range of 2x that of the S2000 that could give me the same fun factor. In fact, the S even "beats" a lot of other more expensive cars when it comes to that ...

Either way ... it's a sad moment for me. I wish I could have the money to afford another car + the S. Parking is a pain in where I live (Hong Kong). Hopefully one day when I have the money to keep another ride, I could find another good condition S to toss around. Pretty sure I won't be able to find one that's like mine though!

The only regret I have is that I haven't driven my car enough ... but I guess it's never enough. I feel like I could drive this car forever.

Maybe next up on the list is a regular 3-series, or maybe an S5 ... still deciding ... I feel like getting an european car this time round, after owning Hondas for the past 12 years.

Whatever the case may be ... farewell to the S2000 ... I will miss the S ...

Bmw M3. 8k+ redline, 4 seats, big trunk. After driving the S2000, most every other car feels boring and sedated.

Kelvin I still have your previous S2000 and plan on holding onto it for a very very long time. I've been daily driving it for the past three years and finally got a beater to keep the miles from racking up so quickly. Now when I am not in the S2000 I look forward to my next drive in it. I am sure you too will miss the experience too. Best of luck and hope to see you back in another S2000 in the future.

take it from someone who has owned an '04 STI sedan and an '08 STI Wagon, aside from the acceleration of 300+ horsepower and AWD, the S2000 is way more fun to drive.

You'll be back!

I feel you man, I sold my 1st S due to working abroad, then i bought another S when I was back in the US and supercharged it.

I'm now working in Shenzhen and always wanted to get a S, but China don't sell it. I ended up buying a Infiniti G37S coupe.

If I knew that someone was selling a S in HK, i would've bought it for sure!!!!!
