Of course I disagree that the mirror bras are pointless. I drove my car on two long trips with them on: from Atlanta to Cleveland, Ohio and from Atlanta to West Palm Beach, Florida. They protect the paint.....

Obviously coming from someone who has never spent 2-3 hours scraping bugs off the front of his car and mirrors. They are pretty ugly, but for long trips they really do cut down on the crap that gets on the mirror housings.

What is the point of mirror bra's.....serious question?

My other car(daily driver) with 2 years of daily driving and mirror bra's.....has near showroom floor mirrors....versus...bug splattered , stone chipped mirrors of the car parked next to mine.

Easy question to answer

Not pretty but useful. If it keeps the paint chips away on long trips they are useful. A little bit of ugliness for a few hours to keep the car looking good for many years is a decent trade IMO.
