Default Got a hardtop, got a problem...

I have jjust installed a hardtop on my '02. I have noticed on rough surfaces that the retracted softop latches rattle. Can anything be done about this?

Thanks!

Umm you didn't click them in. Just reach back there and click them in.

Oh man, of course I clicked them in! I'm stupid, but not nearly THAT stupid.

They still still rattle on anything that's not paved well.

You sure? They shouldn't rattle if they are clicked in unless

1. They are loose on the softop
2. The entire softop is bouncing up and down.

Look at the design you will know what I mean. Otherwise they would have rattled even before you had a hardtop. There is no difference between the way it sits in the well with or without the hardtop.

I thought the same thing but then I realized that the hardtop has 2 arms in the back with rubber stoppers that "hold down" the softop (well, they rest on it anyway) and perhaps the reason it never did it before is that if I hit a bump the whole softop moved the latches didn't rattle. Now the softop can't move b/c of these 2 arms so the latches rattle.

Despite the fact that my search of S2ki turned up nothing I'm shocked I'm the 1st person reporting this. Seems the only latch issue out there has to do with the latches on the hardtop...

Did you do the install? Maybe you installed something wrong. I can't think of 2 arms on the hardtop that hold down the soft top.

Honda did the install (at no charge). I have an OEM hardtop, if that matters. If you look through the back window you can see 2 small arms that rest on the retracted softop. They re built onto the hardtop.

Mine rattle too, there was a thread about this a couple weeks ago. I think it is a pretty normal thing. The rattle is not bad at all though, for me anyway.
