Default Got Hassled at State Inspection

....or so I think. I bought a MY04 used with very low mileage.

I had to get a state inspection last week and the tech claimed my car failed the minimum head light height. Said that I must have lowered my car. It is stock as far as I know and I challenged the way he was estimating the lamp height (based on where the light beam hit the tape several inches away from the bumper). The discussion went down hill from there... I did get my sticker but only because I caught him revving my engine in the garage (don't think that is part of the state of Texas test).

Anyway, it's bugging me now... Is my car at stock height? When measuring from floor to the heighest point on the front wheel well, I read 26 1/8 inches. When measure from floor to the bottom of the stock lip (between the license plate holes), I read 6 1/2 inches.

Can someone with a stock MY04 give me their height? Later, I'll pick up a string level to get the exact lamp height.

Thanks!

Ok here is a pic.

Regardless the tech claims that the center of the headlight must be 24" above ground, he asserted I was at 23". So I am checking to verify this is the requirement but would like to know if the car is lowered.

Looks like its stock height to me. Did he measure the driver's side light or the passenger side light? The driver's side light does aim lower to avoid blinding people in on coming traffic.

Btw the s2k looks gigantic with you in it!

That looks to be stock height. If the shocks and springs are stock then you must be stock. Next time over inflate the front tires and deflate the rears. And most importantly don't get that referee again.

That's not me BTW... that's my wife.

That's what I was trying to explain to hime that he couldn't measure it that way because the lights were aimed down. He was offended by my geometry lesson.
