Default got her today

Just popped in and wanted to drop a quick thanks to all for your posts. Picked up my silver/black today and am being very gentle, but still smiling ear to ear, 60 miles later. Will post questions on oil etc. later. It's in the 90's here and my GF is on her way over for a night cruise.

Definitely a nice trade up from the Si.

Welcome aboard!!! Make sure to check your oil at EVERY gas fill-up for the first 1,000 miles, and then every other fill-up until 5,000.

Welcome! According to most on this board, silver/black is not the fastest color, but the ear to ear smile lasts longer... it isn't interrupted as often by the speeding tickets.

Thanks all.

Stookins-a 99 civic si

s2kguy (or anyone)- What oil should I use? I spoke to the mechanic at the dealer. he recognized the oil burning and said to use whatever was in the manual. Look at me baffled when I asked about special additives in factory oil to help seals. Input please.

All-Noticed a slight grinding sometimes when clutch is about 95% out in first. not always, but now and then. Read something here about this, a TSB??? In denial about anything being wrong with this car, but should face facts (hoping it'll go away-how's that for denial???).

BTW-put 130 miles on day one. Drove the coast of Mass from Salem to Rockport, stopping at roadside stand to eat etc. Lots of looks one, "I like your car", from a woman and her husband in an SUV and one, "it's a two seater but still nice" a woman to her husband driving up to check us out.

Thanks in advance for the help.

All you need to do is adding 10w30 non-synthetic oil to the factory break-in oil when the oil level dips close to the "L" mark on the dip stick. The oil burning should stop after, some say, 10,000 miles.
