The airbags should never ever go off in a situation like that - they're for frontal crashes only. In a case like this, all they would be likely to do is cause neck injuries...

Get to a doctor, even if you don't hurt now, because you WILL ache later (still on the adrenaline), make sure you open a medical claim as well as an auto claim with your and his insurer.
I can tell you after being hit by a guy in a Dodge Ram 1500 going ~20 who did not stop at a 4 way, you will ache hard in the neck and back for almost a week.
