Got the Mugen front sway bar, any tips

Got my Mugen 31mm front sway bar (Thanks Scott for the GB).

No instructions, just the sway bar with the two center bushings. Any tips for installation.

Piece of cake install. Here is what I did, sorry no pics.

Jackup the front and remove the two front wheels.

1. Remove the splash shield, there are three clips you need to remove. You will need a small flat head screwdriver.

2. Remove the existing bushing. You can do this from the wells, no need to get under the car. It's a 14mm socket, two bolts per bushing. The bar should rest on the frame.

3. Disconnect each end of the bar. You need a 5.5mm allen key and a 14mm open end wrench. Put the allen key in the end of the bolt and remove the nut. I used a second box end wrench as a lever on the allen key. The fittings on the ends swivel.

4. Install the new bar in reverse. It took about an hour, but I'm slow

Did you put any grease on the inside of the bushing to minimize noise?

I also did not grease the bushings. They seemed relatively soft, not the super-squeaky poly bushings. I left the coating of grease that was on the bushing clamps there, figuired it was good enough.

No squeaks at all...

I also did the whole job from under the car.

Forgive me, but can you fellas tell a big difference in the handling? I've been kicking around all kinds of braces, but I really don't know what to get. I've heard a lot about the Mugen brace, but will someone please tell me the real-world differences? I don't autocross. Thanks for any response.

Thanks chris, your word is golden around here. I drive my stook very aggressively, I just don't do it on a track. Any thoughts on why Honda didn't opt for the thicker ARB as standard equip, since this car does have an obvious oversteer tendancy?

I do notice a difference between the stock bar and the mugen one. The car seems to be much more proud in hard corners, more confident. So I can't put it into more technical terms. I felt the car diving to the outside front corner when in hard corners before. Now I don't feel that. The car seems to sit more true to the road without the diving sensation. I really thing this should have been a stock item.

Got my bar on the car installed over the long weekend. It really makes a noticeable difference and the car, at least on the street, seems more planted. Will see when I go to the track.

Another tip on instalation:

The installation is a piece of cake like Cthree explained above. Here are a couple of points straight from the service manual.

Remove first the end joint and then the center (2) bushings. I don't thing this too important but for installation is in the reverse order. First the center bushings and then the end links.

One thing that the service manual says, and may be important, is that when you put the end links back they should be centered so they can move freely in any direction.
