Got my first negative comment today =(
Experience with a company is definately a plus. However, I think what makes me angry is rich snobby folks who look down upon Japanese vehicles.
Car enthusiasts know the difference and if I'm not mistaken, this type of badging doesn't occur in Japan.
It's as if these people suddenly realized their luxury Lexus sedans are made by Toyota they would get disgusted and sell their vehicles. What does Toyota mean as a badge? Doesn't it mean they make quality vehicles that are known for reliability and keeping their value? What is wrong with that?
It's as if the value of an Acura NSX would be any less if it has an H symbol on the car.
So the comment, "It's still a Honda prick," What does that really mean? It means that at least some of the public somehow looks down upon Honda. The fact that Edmunds ranked the S2000 over the Boxster S and the BMW Roadster doesn't mean anything to these people.
It's the fact that it is made by a certain company. Yes the companies they come from have a rich history, but people don't seem to get it that Honda has a rich history as well.
Yes, I have brand loyalty, but ultimately, it is what a product does and that is the ultimate worth of a badge.
Not to knock these other companies, but when Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, or whoever, can provide a car "value" that is the equivalent of any of the most recent japanese sports cars, then they'll have my money.
Is it because I can't afford some of these cars? Yes, of course, that is part of it. But the fact is, if I won a million dollars tomorrow, I'd still rather have an S2000 over any other roadster.

Couldn't agree more.
(ok, maybe i'd like a '60s E-type Jag too to round out the stable!
)
You may have me there. The Ferrari spyder is sweet looking and the sound is awesome.
But then again, when you have that Ferrari in the shop a few times, you might realize that a million dollars is not enough for you to own that car.

I have the solution. The F60C! Just strap together three F20Cs, drop it into the Ferrari's engine bay and voila! You're the envy of every motorsport fan that ever lived!

(hmm... it's getting a little late and I'm punchy
G'night folks!)
