Make sure you vary the rpm on the trip home, do not hold it at a constant rpm for more than say a 1/2 hour. I don't have my book in front of me, but someone will tell you that at 3000 rpm in 6th is probably 90mph.
Thanks S2000 Owner
Sounds like I will be driving at less than 3000RPM then (if 90mph holds true). Don't want to go that fast and end up with a ticket with my brand new car and radar detector. My wife would make my life even more difficult and I would need more arguments to support how rational to buy this car was (she wanted ANY 4 door sedan!!). You guys can see who is being irrational in this marriage.

In 6th gear, 5,000 rpm is 80 mph according to my test. I've got 85 miles on my second short block and I'm trying to keep the rpms down to 3,000 - 4,000. Since 75 mph is our posted interstate speed, I tested the rpm/gear/speed relationship a few days ago to see how many rpms it would take me to cruise with traffic and it takes 5,000 in 6th to reach 80 mph, if my memory is accurate. I'll verify this later.

18 mph/1000rpm in 6th gear; 3000 = 54mph. be sure to vary your speed on the trip home. You can VTEC or go into cruise control @ 600 miles.
