If you haven't received a notice, it doesn't dismiss you from taking care of the ticket. The ticket has a court day that you must either attend or pay the fine by then. If you don't, hope you don't get pulled over again because you have a warrant. Warrant means you will sit in jail until your court day(within 72 hours) unless you post bail which you lose anyways for fee's to the bail-bond.

On the other hand, if you get pulled over again, the cop will run your license and the computer will tell him about the outstanding ticket. Then you'll be in a LOT more trouble than if you'd just taken care of it in the first place.
It's up to you but don't go crying when they impound your car and lock you up!
Good luck,
Steve R.
LoL, I love the "i got a ticket posts" they always stir up quite a conversation, anyhow, i think its hillarious that people are so out to get all those "lunatics" not signaling on the road....... there are FAR FAR more important things our police officers need to be doing, if we are so concerned about the bad drivers we should enforce some kind of driving test that requires brain cells. If you give a moron a liscence he is going to break the law regardless of the implications, IMO. I personally think police spend far too much time dealing with trivial situtations such as neighbour complaints about noise violations and "vtecing" (vtec in front of police officer, i guarntee you will get pulled over in california), when there are people gettin murdered and assaulted constantly.
anyways its late and im throwing 4 cents in

Being the first to post how uninformed most who posted on this thread are about their rights, I would like to echo it again. Some of you just immediately give up your rights and think that's being courteous to the police officer. Wrong. If you never exercise your rights, you will lose them. I will never ever let a cop search my car, even though I know 100% sure that he won't find anything. Why should I let him? Especially with an asshole cop.
And don't let cops make you wait a long time, either. That's illegal. There's a reasonable time, but if it gets out of hand, ask the officer if you are being detained. They can't do that to you.
God, it pisses me off so much as a law student and a citizen to hear about people who don't know their rights. It's so unfair to you. You should educate yourself about it so cops can't push you around illegally.
I'm not going to claim I'm an expert, but I know my fair share and will try to inform my s2ki buddies about their rights to the best of my incomplete knowledge.

Believe it or not, traffic officers maybe write 2-4 tickets in a 12-hour shift. The rest of the 10 hours they are responding to car accidents, 911 calls, and domestic issues.

Yea, because rapists and murderers walk around with the crimes they have committed written on a T-shirt.

wow, I can't believe that he made you peel the tint off on the spot, what a jerkoff.
What is the law in Cali? Are you allowed to have 35% tint or higher, like in NY, or no tint on the front two windows at all?

Obviously they dont, 2-4 tickets is quite a bit of time, police know exactly where the gang members and other possible felons are located, they know almost exactly where to look when something gets stolen. Im confident if you asked an officer he would agree. It not that they are wearing it on their T-shirts obviously they are not, but any time wasted giving me a ticket for having my radio turned up to loud on a stock system in the middle of the day is a waste, is he protecting and serving............., i didnt feel he was. Again, I have plenty of run ins with ridiculous cops, and at the same time have waited 45 minutes for an officer to arrive to accident I was involved in. well my 5 cents are provided
Let me just say, going out and arresting people is not as easy like you see on Law and Order Special Victims Unit.

we need more s2000s here haha i barely see any
