Default Got pulled over by the po-po but no ticket?? WTF???

So I had gone out for sushi w/ the bf at this great place in Vienna, VA (Yama Sushi, if you're ever in the area)....and we had both pigged out and each had a 22oz bottle of Sapporo. We havent been drinking a lot lately so we were kinda tipsy getting out...nothing out of control though. So, we're driving down the street, going about 40-41 in a 35 mph zone. This cop was behind us (FYI the bf was driving) for about 2 min when he starts to ride our bumper. So I tell the bf to move to the other lane to get out of the way of the cop. As soon as he moves to the other lane, the cop follows us and turns on his lights and pulls us over. We're a little confused (although we did have to top down and the music kinda loud - JL 10" didnt help either - haha)...b/c we werent speeding or anything.

...So, 2 cops get out of the car and one is on each side of the S...they ask for the license and registration...which we provide to them kindly. The cop on the drivers side proceeds to tell us that his system is linked directly to the DMV and that our plates (which we received DIRECTLY from the dealer the day we bought the car!!!) were not registered in his system! WTF, is this cop dicking around with us or what??? He was like call the DMV monday and check with them, and then...he let us go.

I guess he just wanted to check out the MY04...I wonder if we had the top up if he would have done a search and made me put it down...Hahahahahahahahaha....what do you think??

If you show respect sometimes it will help get you out of tickets

paradigm,

I would give the cops story the benefit of the doubt. I've been pulled over twice in my (so far) 6 month stay in Florida, both times because they ran my tag and it came back on their local computer as being attached to a green 3000GT with plates that expired 3 years ago and the owner's license was surrended. When they eventually check out the central computer, it clears everything up, but the local system says "Pull him over!" It's an inconvenience, for sure, but I'd rather them pull over people for that reason than to let potential whackos continue to drive around on stolen/old/suspended plates/licenses.

I had a license plate ordeal so confusing that I had to go through 3 License plates on my jimmy!!??

first my "ex" was pulled over and told that her plates showed for a chevy s10 (the truck we traded in for the jimmy- they never transfered it even though we paid the $100)... So we went the secretary of state, and they told us; "you have to get a new plate"...

so we order one...

a little later... I get pulled over for the EXACT same thing... but this time, the cops says: "I ran your plates, and apparently that number does not exists in our system... I could arrest you right now for fraud, but I'll give you the benifit of the doubt"...

and...

so...

...I order my THIRD!! (secretary of state apologized for a "boo boo" and replaced this one for free)

But THIS time... they registered it to my S2000 and not my Jimmy... and I did not realize it! So again... pulled over... and again to the SofS to get it fixed!

what a joke!
