Arrggghhh. I have only had my S2000 for one week and got a speeding ticket today for going 80 in a 65 zone. It kinda pisses me off because I was just staying with the flow of traffic of the interstate but the cop pulls me over and then asks me all kinds of questions about my car. I really think he just pulled me over because of the car.

He was not running radar at all. I had my passport 8500 going and it never went off. I was just cruising behind traffic and then blue lights behind me.

The ticket is for 115 but the insurance is the killer. I guess I am going to get a lawyer tomorrow and try to get out of it. I haven't had a ticket in over 4 years before this one so I probably can get out of it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you can't beat it, look into Online Traffic School. Saves a lot of time and trouble.
G'Luck.

I am honestly not sure. As I said, No radar or lasar and then the cop came out of nowhere with his lights on. I am assuming that is the only way unless he just guessed. Perhaps he just knew the flow of traffic.

Take your chance and fight your ticket in court. If he doesn't show up then your case will be dismissed. Remember to subpeona his notes on the ticket.

Do you guys not think it would be better to take this to a lawyer who I know several people have used just to get the tickets drop and pay double the ticket fine and have nothing on my record?

Also does anyone know what a 80 in a 65 zone would do to my insurance if I just pay the ticket? I have all of my points and no tickets in around 5 years?

Maybe your speedo is out of calibration. Actually, mine might be...

My town bought one of those portable speed check displays that they park mostly in 30 MPH zones. I think it is a great idea! The LED speed indicator turns from green to red when you exceed the speed limit it is set to warn at. Many times I have approached it with my S at exactly 28 MPH and it indicates 31 MPH. I tried it with both of my other vehicles and it always is within 1 MPH of what the speedometer is indicating.

A weak defense, but worth checking out.

I checked my speedometer accuracy with my GPS. Up to about 50 mph, the GPS and the speedometer agree. After that, the S2000 speedometer read slightly fast. It was about 2 mph fast at 90 mph.

Good luck on the ticket.

I like that sight http://www.ticketassassin.com WOW!
