Default Got stripes!!! on my car ;-) Long post

Well I got the stripes put on my car today, and they look very nice. They are so nice that I am not going to let you see them, not because of spite but because I have no digital camera and no internet hosting ability if I did.

Modern Image did the stripes and they are a first class shop will post their relevent contact information as soon as I get persission to do so, ( this is just a precausion as they are a smaller shop and I don't want to diluge them with phone calls overnight). The srtip was cut from one peice of vinal and was with a very high quality ploter, they did the trace line right in the same piece to assure alignment. They let me hang around the shop during the final fitting which took quite a bit of time and they held the shop open to get the job done the same day, a real help for a busy guy like myself. They also had the car detailed on the outside by my request at cost to assure that the car was free of debre and little dust pieces, they even went as far as to clay bar a few trouble areas to make sure the fitment was correct and up to my standards. A 10 out of 10 shop in my book no doubt, they run the grafics for local chevy companies for the stripes on corvettes and those guys are real picky on who they deal with.

All of this attention does not come cheap, but my motto is pay more once up front and don't worry about what could have happened.

If anyone wants a picture they will have to wait a few days. There is a little autoart one in another post that looks just like mine. So far in my search not one other S2000 with stripes so I guess I am a pionner for once. Any way the butt dyno says its worth 5 hp but I am driveing much slower since install as it attracts absolutly everyones attention, with the spoon exhast and the new stereo it will be such a attention drawer I expect to have women just flocking to the car drawn by a unseen force. Thats just my opinion though.

All in all a big plus for the car, i did not think you could easly improve the flow of the s2000 all of the body kits i have looked at just do not have the simplicity/understatement that i was looking for. So I will stick to the stripes for now. You guys will have some real neat picture to drool over if I can get ahold of Cal C to use his digital camera.

I also appoligis 4 all of the speling mistaks and gramr errorrs.

Stormbringer, take your film to Longs and they will give you regular prints plus a disk with .jpg files on it. Then register as an owner on this site (enter your VIN #) and use your photo album, accessible from "My S2000," to store the picture. Next create a message and click on Insert Photo (select one), Size (select one) and Photo to add the photo.

It's easy, so no more excuses, just do it!

What part of SD are you in? I've got an excellent digital camera and a web server, and can post a few photos for you. Things may have improved since I last saw them, but besides costing money, the digitals the photo places offer are generally pretty poor.

If you like, head down to the Qualcomm stadium parking lot this weekend (autocross going on Saturday and Sunday) and I can take a few shots then.

I know there's some folks dying to see how this looks, myself included. You sir, are a pioneer!

StormBringer, I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures. I have often wondered what it would look like.

Barry, no picture.

The stripe idea came from a picture of vaser's old 917 from 72 ish. They look really nice. I will be heading down to the autocross late in the day on Saturday, Sunday I was thinking of running the 914 if I get the motor back together. If you guys want to take pictures by all means. Modern Image gave me the green light to post there relevent info and I will as soon as I find the cards they gave me.

On a side note I get even more weird looks everywhere I go now, it was nice for the first 10 minutes or so then it got real annoying when people would trail me on the freeway, two little civics also wanted to play last night, did not run with them and they looked dissapointed. The police have also eyed me but no change in the behavior of following me to work some mornings or when I go to the store.

I said at some point that my car would remain stock, well I broke that rule and will be going all out next year, the plans include a stronger clutch an really really big stereo (already have the parts wainting for install and if comptech comes through one of the superchargers with the aftercharger, ( around bonus time hopefully July.)

What color is the car, and what color are the stripes that you got.

I saw the little model that Clive did, but I'd like to see it on a real S2K.
