^^ you could always pick up a used kit. There is always someone selling one.

True, but that's harder for my parents to order for me, lol.

I've been out the country a few times, I don't really want to go on a big trip this year. I just want to graduate, find a job, move into a house with my brother and other roomates and settle into that.

I know I'll get sick of the 9-5 grind, but right now it seems like an infinately better situation than going to school.

Honestly I went through the same thing wondering what to get, I decided not to do the whole car part thing and get somthing more worth while I guess. I got a very nice watch.

To me the whole car part thing is cool, but who knows if your going to sell it crash it, have it get stolen etc. With somthing like a watch you can have it for a long time and maybe some day pass it down to your kids. I'd get somthing you will have forever.
I'd completely agree with this. As much as I know you love your car and that you want something awesome for a graduation, I think it's more meaningful to get something that'll last much longer. A watch is definitely one of them. I have the exact feeling as you that I'll keep my S forever, but that just will not happen. Also who really knows one day you might crash it and the parts on the S will be gone with it. "A graduation gift from family", I just think that should be something more important than car parts for the S. If you are planning to buy something useful other than car parts, you can let them buy it for you now, and you can save that money to buy parts yourself. I love gifts but I don't think I will ever ask my parents to buy me car related things.

True...I'm looking into getting a nice living room set for the house we're gonna rent, maybe get them to pay for most of that instead...

You can always use your own money to buy car parts. A graduation present should be more meaningful, and longer lasting!

i got my movado (new) for $300... i'd get something else if you're looking to spend $1000+

i'd do seats, suspension, or ask for some component/contribution towards FI. you can dump a few months pay into finishing FI before you pay off any loans/etc, right?

whats with peoples obsession with watches on here?

idk about some people on here but if i got a watch for something as accomplishing as graduating college, i would think its some kind of sick joke.

and if your parents are anything like mine they would NEVER buy me anything to make my car even faster than it already is thinking ill go kill myself.

I mean you have some nice rims and you dont want a hardtop so your s2000 is pretty much set. like someone else mentioned maybe a trip somewhere youve never been would definately be much better than... a watch....
