Default Great Grandfather

I am going to be a great-grandfather in two weeks at age 73. I told my wife that I am the only great-grandfather out here that still regularly drives an S2000 and can get in and out with no problem. She didn’t seem too impressed. Anyway, even at my age the car is a joy to drive and to own. I have it in storage now for the winter, but I can’t wait for Spring to get into it again and enjoy that unique experience. It’s a 2005 NFR with 73K on it. I bought it 3 years ago with 63K and have never looked back.

I'm a grandfather and turn 70 next year. Purchased my 07 new, 65K miles and it still drives like new. I tell the wife I'll drive it until I can't get in and out of it anymore. Not an issue yet!

I was 80 last birthday.
Bought my S2000 6 years ago, with 25,000 kilometres on the clock, just over 50,000 now.
In our Queensland, Australia climate she runs 12 months a year, & yes she is still pristine.
She doesn't do that much, as I have to drive my restored Triumph TR7 & TR8 as well.
And no, no one should bother trying to buy her, she's not likely to be for sale for many years yet.

God bless you. Sounds like you still have many driving years ahead of you. Enjoy every day of it, but don't be too proud to give it up when you can no longer drive safely.

I know some folks between 80 and 90 years of age who have to be helped in and out of their vehicle, once strapped in they drive off like nothing. It scares the hell out of me but some people take it far longer than they should. Those people will stop driving when their license gets taken away or they kill someone.

I love reading stories like all these. I'm only 71 and have had mine since it was new in 02.
