Damn haters, even if I saw a gang of people vandalising my car I wonder if it would be smart to confront them or just pick them off with a Remington 700 or 10/22 ( for stealth )
Sorry to hear what happen. Your insurance company will probably want a couple of qoutes but the best thing to do is call and make a claim and ask them what their company procedures are. Then just follow what they say and make sure to keep a log of who and when you talk to your insurance company.
I still don't understand why they can't research it. Press the charges, and they will find who did it and make the criminal punished? What's wrong?? WTF? The guys probably do have a criminal background, just cant prove that yet. Is the cop getting a warrant than??
I don't know how badly it's damaged, but insurance should definitely cover it. I am sorry for the time you'll be out of your car, but it will be as good as new when you get it back. It does not sound totaled, which is good.
Stupid haters... I am really sorry for this...

yea man, thanks. I dont understand it either, if the guy has a criminal record they will go after him, if not, they can't do nething. if you ask me thats ****ed up shit because what they are doing is basically ASSUMING since he has a record then he must be capable of soemthing like that again but if someone who has a clean record isn't capable of such things. Thats sad shit right there. I think I'll be out of the car for about 2-3 weeks prob.
Sorry to hear about it. Gutless vandalism is very frustrating.
The reason they can't just take the finger prints and nab the culprit is that they don't have everyone's fingerprints on record. They don't have mine, and I'm guessing they don't have yours (hey, but who knows). They get fingerprints when they arrest someone (ie, someone with a criminal record).
So unless you're suggesting they arrest and finger print everyone one with in a 100 mile radius you can see the problem. And infringing everyone's civil rights (including yours) would be a much bigger crime than hacking up a car.

It makes no sense. In california everyone gives fingerprints when they get a license. Yet the cops won't search the database. Best hope is they catch them speeding, maybe driving a modified car, or better yet maybe they drink and drive.
I had a similar situation but the man was the one doing it
What are you gonna do about that? Just cry.
