I have seen Lee's (S2000GT) grill in person and these pics do not do it justice. (this is just my opinion and I am sure I will get flamed for sharing it)
Thanks

I do have to admit they look better in person too....the pics make them look a lot more closed off than they really are.

i paid 70 bux shipped for my03 grill from coastal metals.
anything more than that is ridiculous.

i also installed it inside/behind the bumper
looked terrible outside, like they all do, for
protection not looks.

would like to do the same to the 05, i kinda like
the chain link one but would have to be black and
$60 bux cheaper shipped.

a hoostook memeber took out a raccoon, lots of damage
to the front and all the AC components

My grille mod. Gets tons of compliments. Looks like it belongs, $7.

I don't know, if you are going fast enough, I can't see how those grills are going to protect you from a big enough rock or animals. I'd imagine they'd fly right threw those things at speed. Those grills are probably good for the little rocks and leaves. But at 40mph a racoon is still going to do damage.

Well....thats a purely subjective statement seeing as you make a pretty good argument for having grilles....

do you value protecting the above parts only worth $70???

btw...found another pic of my grilles up close...
thats like saying i should drive a tank to protect myself from damage,
or i should justify spending goobs of money on products for
peace of mind???

the reason for me using the grill was to stop rocks and leaves from collecting
and abusing components, if you ever drove in houston, you would know
what i mean.

since i put the grill behind/inside the bumper i might be inclined to
build one myself this time around. It was very un-noticable, only when
i mentioned it was it seen.

yours looks good imo, but i still prefer the look without the grill out front.

This is the sort of question that has plagued people for hundreds of years. It's to do with peace of mind ..................... "insurance" if you will. How far should anyone go? That's kind of an individual thing. A person who has been in a severe collision may only elect to ever drive large pickup trucks or Hummers for "insurance" against injury.
I suppose there could be S2000 owners somewhere, sometime, who would value their radiators to the extent that if it were possible, they would get one of these:

Really, how much does it take to protect how much you "value" your parts? Tens of thousands of S2000's have no grill, no mesh, no protection whatsoever. Does that mean the value their owners have placed on their "parts" to be ZERO?

I'm not professing one side or the other. It's just that some of you guys are going a bit nuts over this. To each, their own. The strong feelings posted here really are NOT justifiable for something so trivial. All it has done is provide onlookers with another source of entertainment and laughter.

with Bucks grill any small animal you hit is going to end up looking like some kind of ugly waffle.

I think that above 40mph small animals are going to damage the baffles inside the grill opening and perhaps other parts on the frontal area... the grill may hold up but it will push/force everything behind it inward causing breakage & cracking....

Amazing how that happens .....all i can say is it didn't start that way.

You know i have seen alot of S2000 on here that i thought looked

ridiculous....but i kept my opinions to my self... im not gonna dis

anybodys car for the simple fact that you end up with these kind of

results.

Well I have to agree with turbo_pwr - a small animal will mash your front end - your rad is the last thing you have to worry about - its new bumper time.

My grille is actually dented (not that you can notice), but thats due to its catching a rock at some point. Now while I have a slightly dented grille right now - i am glad it isnt a hole in the radiator.

and as far as what xviper said...I totally agree....drama is the the lifesource of this board!
