H E L P! Dealer forgot to remove spring spacers!
Does anyone know what the detrimental effects of NOT removing the spring spacer are? My s2k has almost 800mi now and I didn't notice that my car was higher than usual until today. I just happened to parked next to my friend's car and he noticed that I still had my spacers in. Could I damage my car permanently???? It's xmas eve and all the dealers are closed today and tomorrow. I'm so irrate....I knew everything about the car before delivery, but I had no idea about the spring spacers. Can the dealer compensate for this?
Some of the spacers were left in my springs, and I did not find them until after 2000 miles (it was 1600 miles home from the dealer).
I had several conversations with AHM reps that claim there will not be any resulting damage.
That was over a year ago and I don't know of any problems. Do turn in this incompetent performance to the zone office.

The car sits at least an inch higher off the ground, you can see it in the picture gallery section, "Yellow s2k with vette". The ride is another thing, since the first stook I drove was my own, I couldn't tell you how the ride compares. However, I know that the suspension gives virtually NO give. I have taken it on a few hard turns without any consequences though.
Not sure if this will make you feel any better, but even with the spacers removed, there is hardly any give in the suspension. I weigh 175 pounds and tried pushing the right rear of the car down, and it barely moved.

Just checked out your pics in the gallery.....very nice, by the way....and I could notice that the car is raised about an inch or so just from looking at that first post.
Again, I doubt any damage was done to the car, and believe it would have been more of a performance issue had you not noticed and finally had them removed.

I saw a 2001 S2K before it was prepped last week. It was a yellow that my dealer sold to a board member in California.
There's a BIG WHITE TAG hanging from the shift lever that identifies the spacers and warns the dealer and mechanic to not drive faster than 15 mph until the spacers are removed.
I'd be upset at the dealer too!

Hey, does anyone still have that white tag that told the dealers to remove the spacers before driving off? I would like to print this out to show them when I take it in tomorrow. Thanks.
