H.I.D. bulbs
I'm looking to find out what are the stock specs on the s2000 hid bulbs? are they 8000k or 6000k or something different? I'm looking to put a kit on my wife's new 2007 accord, and would like them to look similar to our s2000. Any info would be helpfull, any links to sites that sell the kits or any kind of info would help. thanks in advanced!
You can't just put 4300K HID bulbs in an Accord. Without a projector it isn't going to look anything like an S2000 and will not perform even 30% as well, plus it will blinding oncoming cars and get her pulled over by the PoPo. Look into retrofitting an OEM HID projector into the Accord. Research on www.hidplanet.com/forums. I have retrofit HID projectors into my Sport bike, Tacoma, and Honda Prelude. You will not be sorry.
You don't have to retro fit the US housing, if you can source them the JDM Honda inspire headlights bolt up. You can source Acura TSX Bulbs/ballasts cheaply as well. the only mod you would have to do is to the low beam harness. I did this on my 2007. Retro-fitting the OEM housing is possible, but it's not as good as OEM. Cost was still high, but a few hundred less than a retrofit.

Please please don't do this the wrong way and annoy everybody else on the road with HID's that cause blinding glare to other drivers.
Just to clarify...you don't "need" projector headlamps, you just need headlamps that have a good beam pattern. That said, most, but not all, HID lamps these days are projector beams.
You need lamps that have an even beam pattern, well focused without hotspots and preferrably with a sharp horzontal cutoff like our S2K's.
DO NOT buy an authentic Japanese kit as the beam pattern will be the exact opposite of what you need. Cars in Japan drive on the left side of the road, so if you do that you'll end up with crappy lighting for yourself and blind everybody else.
We're gonna end up going back to mandatory government inspections of headlights like we had back in the 70's and earlier if things keep going the way they are. I'm sick of people driving cars with headlights aiming messed up. Before HID's it was not a big deal cause lights weren't that bright. Now it's messed up.
I'm also pissed at Toyota, GM and Ford for their newer trucks with HID's. They are super bright, super blue (way more glare with blue than white), and the worst f-ing beam patterns I've ever seen. I'm sure you guys know which trucks I'm talking about.

A remounted HID bulb is never the right solution. A properly engineered (OEM) HID projector will always outperform a plug-n-play system. While it is a tall order to throw your headlights in an oven just so you can take a dremel to them, there are a few HID communities out there that are filled with retrofit information.
If you guys are interested, I can show you a FX-R Bi-Xenon retrofit that I just completed on my 2009 Tacoma.
