I just got my stook back after two days of being in the shop getting TSB-054 done (noisy clutch). All I can say is WOW! There is no noise in any RPM range. The clutch grabs better than ever and the car just "feels right".

As Greg Stevens says - it makes me do this

Prior to the TSB the clutch rattled like heck, so much so that I can hear all the melodic sounds of the engine and am taken back to the day I bought it.

I strongly recommend anyone who is experienceing the rattle have the TSB done immediately. That noise takes away from the car so much so I was actually embarassed to drive it in traffic.

For those wondering, "why two days?", it was the first time they had done this operation as the dealer only sold 4 stooks last year. I wasn't worried about their lack of experience because the technician working on my car, John, built and runs two drag cars and really takes care of my ride. I know he spent the extra time doing it "right".

I also slapped two new S02's on while it was there.

Again, I highly recommend getting this service done.

-Mike

Mine took 2 days and was my dealer's first as well, and my response after getting it back was exactly like yours. WOW!

I can happily report that after 3 more thousand miles, including some track time, my clutch still feels and sounds great! Congrats on the new-again-feeling car!

My clutch was also noisy from day one, which also happens to be the same day I got my first of many 1-2 grinds. When I brought my car in, it was suspected that it was a possible heat shield vibration.

When the tranny TSB was done last Fall, they also replaced the clutch. I agree that the car is now perfect and the clutch take up is dead on.

Also, I never would have believed that this car could be so "relatively" quiet.

I completely agree the TSBs make driving the car a lot more fun.

Don't forget to get a 4-wheel alignment done w/ the TSBs -- a few of us have had to go back and do this after the service bulletins have been done because of off-center steering wheels etc. The dealership should throw it in.

Miami,

The TSB repairs a rattling noise which sounds like a heat-sheild broke loose. Don't know about a clunk noise.

It gets really noticable between 3000 and 4000 rpms, especially when decelerating with the car in gear.

The service bulletin text is on s2ki.com as AusS2000 said.
